Fifth-Round Pick (155th overall): Kyren Williams, Running Back, Notre Dame

After losing both of their fourth-round picks in order to trade up to get Sam Williams, the Cowboys now use their first fifth-round pick on running back Kyren Williams. Dallas could use another running back, especially with Ezekiel Elliott’s future with the team in limbo after the upcoming season.

Williams is a tough-nosed runner and has very good hands as well. This past season he rushed for 1,002 yards, scored 14 rushing touchdowns, and caught 42 passes for 359 yards and three touchdowns. Williams is not a great athlete but he still can make defenders miss.

The problem for Williams and his draft stock is that he tested poorly at the NFL Combine. Most notably he ran a 4.65-second 40-yard dash which was the slowest of all running backs at the combine. Overall, Williams is quick, can make people miss, and has great hands. He has been compared to James White and Dion Lewis by many.
