2. Cowboys Add A WR in the First Two Days

The next step of our best-case scenario is drafting a wide receiver in the first two days. It seems likely that the Cowboys will take a guard and wide receiver within the first three rounds. This makes me very excited about what the team plans on doing.

With the team’s WR3 currently being a battle consisting of James Washington, Noah Brown, and Simi Fehoko, I would feel a lot better if the team added a top receiver prospect to that group. Also, throwing in the fact that it is likely Michael Gallup will not be ready for the start of the season makes me want this to happen even more. This receiver class is insanely deep, so the Joneses could get a WR3 in Round 3 if things go well.

Players in Round 1 that would be ideal to have are Chris Olave and Treylon Burks. Olave has a great all-around skillset that could boost the offense tremendously with elite route running and red zone ability. Burks is another great fit that would add another big-body receiver that shines in 50-50 opportunities and in the yards after the catch.

While those big names would be great to have, there are also quality options that could be available in Round 2 as well. Those include George Pickens, Jahan Dotson, and Skyy Moore. Pickens would add a big-body target with blazing speed. Dotson and Moore would be good slot options that have great route-running ability along with great speed.

Even on Day 3, there should be a few options that can come in and win the WR3 spot immediately. Names like David Bell, John Metchie III, and Calvin Austin III can bring different skill sets to this offense and help elevate the loss of Amari Cooper. In this best-case scenario, coming out of the first three rounds with one pick being a guard and one being a receiver would be a huge win.
