The Dallas Cowboys are going into next week’s draft with more roster holes than it’s used to having. For the past several years, the draft team has stressed taking the best player available when they’re on the clock. However, can they afford to do that this year?

Due to multiple starters either being shipped off to other teams or just failing to be retained, America’s Team now has holes at the guard, wide receiver, and defensive end positions. Not only that, but the team could also use more competition in spots such as the safety, linebacker, and cornerback positions.

To the Jones’s luck, their decision to fill this roster through the draft has a chance to work out wonderfully. Due to the pandemic, many student-athletes received an extra year of college sports eligibility. After a weird 2020 season, some college athletes opted to use the extra year, and then opted for the draft this season instead of last, making this class much deeper than previous years.

It is very likely the roster looks the same going into this draft, so projecting how the draft falls for the ‘Boys shouldn’t be too difficult, especially because Jerry Jones already spread the word of what the team plans to do during the draft. In this article, I will be sharing my best-case scenario for each positional need for this draft for the Cowboys. Dallas will be in good shape if they address these positions. Here we go!
