3. Jameson Williams, Wide Receiver – Alabama

Jameson Williams would be a great addition to this Cowboys’ offense and would add another dimension to this team thanks to his speed and big playmaking ability. However, this would be another mistake for the Cowboys in the first round. Dallas cannot afford to waste a pick on a player recovering from injury. This team is already dealing with Michael Gallup’s ACL recovery coming, and they shouldn’t use this pick on Williams. If he is unable to start Week 1, it would be a complete waste for Dallas.

Unfortunately, this could be another situation where Jones sees a big-name player still on the board and takes that prospect regardless of injury history or off-the-field concerns. Now, if this were a second-round pick, this would be right up Dallas’ alley. Williams would be one of those nice risk/reward picks they tend to make with their second pick. As tempting as Williams would be given the Cowboys’ need for a receiver after losing three this offseason, taking a player coming off a major injury isn’t the way to start filling those three roster gaps.
