3. Washington Commanders take Chris Olave

First-round pick: 11th

Primary team needs: WR, CB, IOL

The Pick: Chris Olave, Wide Receiver – Ohio State

The Reason: Another talented weapon to go with Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson

The Washington Commanders are in need of offensive weapons, plain and simple. Having the 11th overall pick in the draft will give them the opportunity to get a great one. While many mocks have them taking Garrett Wilson with their pick, the more dangerous option would be for them to take Chris Olave whose route running and speed would be a long-time problem for the Cowboys.

Pairing him with former Ohio State Buckeye Terry McLaurin would give Washington a talented duo at receiver. A duo that will then take pressure off of running back Antonio Gibson, who sees plenty of bodies in the box waiting to stop him.

Olave is probably the most NFL-ready receiver in this draft. His transition should be seamless, and his presence would add immediate pressure on the Cowboys’ secondary, which is still young and has been prone to give up big plays. McLaurin and Olave is a scary thought not only for the Cowboys but for everyone in the NFC East. Plus, like Davis, Olave is a guy that the Cowboys have had their eyes on for a while.

Let’s hope that none of these players fall to the Cowboys’ division rivals as it could spell problems for years to come. Dallas doesn’t get to pick until 24th overall (assuming they don’t make a trade). Before the Cowboys even get on the board, their rivals may be adding key players for 2022.
