A Dallas Cowboys’ realistic 2022 NFL Draft big board
Team Interest: 8
Team Need: 7.5
Draft Projection: 9
Total: 24.5
The first of our two Georgia Bulldogs in this round of the big board is wide receiver George Pickens. Pickens is the only player on this board that is not traveling to Dallas for a 30 visit. The interest in Pickens spans from the popular belief that the team is looking for a wide receiver early in the draft.
After the team traded Amari Cooper, the need for a receiver changed drastically. There’s been one addition in James Washington, but it’s clear the team is still looking for an upgrade at receiver after failing to trade for DeVante Parker and Brandin Cooks.
Pickens’s draft projection currently seems to be anywhere between a late first and late second-round pick. His skill set, speed, and big body ould help spread the field and allow CeeDee Lamb to play more in the slot, where he does his best work.

The second Georgia player on the board is on the defensive side of the ball: linebacker Quay Walker. Walker is on the Cowboys’ visit list and could be a very likely pick in the second if available.
The Joneses have spoken about wanting to keep Micah Parsons in the hybrid role he played last season and don’t have interest in putting him at defensive end full-time. However, the starting linebacker unit, assuming Parsons takes the majority of his snaps at linebacker, would be Parsons, LVE, and Luke Gifford. You could say linebacker is a bit of a need, and Walker could come in and start right away.
Quay is projected to land somewhere between the mid-second,and early-third rounds. Adding the Georgia star could bring in a player who helped lead the best defense in college and shore up the linebacker core.
