Police are looking to speak with Dallas Cowboys second-year cornerback Kelvin Joseph in connection with a fatal shooting in the Lower Greenville area of Dallas, Texas. The homicide happened on March 18 and no one has been arrested yet for the crime. According to the New York Post, Joseph is not believed to be the shooter but appeared to be present at an altercation outside of a Dallas nightclub prior to the shooting.

The man murdered was 20-year-old Cameron Ray. Ray appeared to get into a fight with a group of people (that appeared to include Joseph). In surveillance footage obtained by KDFW-TV in Dallas, a member of the group involved in the altercation that took place before the shooting was wearing a necklace with the letters “YKDV” on it.

According to ESPN, “YKDV Bossman Fat” is the rap name the Cowboys cornerback goes by. The necklace and the body description seem to match Joseph, putting him present at the scene that happened just before the shooting.

After the feud happened between Ray and the group of people, Ray was shot by a gunman in an SUV as he was walking away. The victim was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead. The interview police are seeking from Joseph is part of the ongoing murder investigation.

Dallas police want to speak with Cowboys CB Kelvin Joseph in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred in March

The Cowboys have apparently encouraged Joseph to cooperate and speak with law enforcement to discuss what he knows about the situation. At the time of writing, Joseph had yet to speak to the police.

Joseph was a second-round pick by the Cowboys in 2021. He played in ten games for Dallas last season, including two starts. He initially suffered a groin injury at the end of the preseason but was activated off of the IR in November. The 22-year-old is currently in line to compete for a starting cornerback role alongside breakout star Trevon Diggs next season. He may prove himself talented enough to replace veteran cornerback Anthony Brown for the starting position.

The Cowboys nor Joseph’s lawyer have made any comments to reporters or the media about the situation. We will update our readers with more information as it surfaces.
