With the 155th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select…

Dallas needs a defensive tackle that commands double teams in the running game. Currently, they don’t have anyone on the roster at defensive tackle that commands that respect. Ridgeway, at the collegiate level, commanded double teams thanks to his strength and ability to wreak havoc in the running game in the backfield for a man his size. He needs to work on staying low and not giving offensive linemen an easy target. However, his wrestling background makes him experienced with battles in close spaces, so he should be able to fix that issue.

Reason for the Pick: The Cowboys need to find someone that can stop the run or at least free up their linebackers to make plays on ball carriers. Ridgeway has shown that his strength and durability should give the Cowboys some relief at the position on early downs to start off and possibly a long-term solution down the line.

With the 167th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select…

Erik Ezukanma, Wide Receiver – Texas Tech

Height: 6’2″ Weight: 206lbs

Career Stats: 138 receptions, 2165 receiving yards, 15.7 yards per reception, 15 touchdowns

The Cowboys would have loved to get a receiver early and had a chance with John Metchie III. However, with Michael Gallup already recovering from an ACL injury, the team can’t afford to take a player in the draft dealing with ACL issues as well.

Ezukanma luckily fell right into their laps in this situation. While he doesn’t have the size some had hoped for, he’s a talented player with the ball in his hands. He’s not afraid to make contested catches or catches in traffic. He’s a threat in the screen game or going deep in play action.

Reason for the Pick: The Cowboys need to protect themselves after losing Cedrick Wilson in free agency. Ezukanma would be able to come in and compete with James Washington and Noah Brown for a spot on this roster and should be able to make the team and have an impact in the passing game and special teams.
