5 biggest needs for the Cowboys in the 2022 NFL Draft
5. Kicker
Dallas has struggled to find a reliable kicker for the past few years. They tried to fix the problem by bringing in Greg Zuerlein. After back issues, he just wasn’t the same kicker during his time with the Cowboys. He missed several extra point attempts and had one of his worst statistical years in his entire NFL career in 2021. In February, the Cowboys brought in kicker Chris Naggar (an unexperienced kicker) on a futures/reserve contract.
In mid March, Dallas decided to cut Greg the Leg. With everything considered, it makes sense that the Cowboys are focusing on bringing in a young rookie to come in and beat out Naggar to be the starting kicker. This draft class is loaded with kickers for the Cowboys, so they should be able to get one if they want to use a draft pick on the position.
