2. Sign Bobby Wagner

Cowboys fans have been clamoring for their team to sign former Seattle Seahawk Bobby Wagner for weeks now. He has ties to Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and there seems to be some mutual interest between the two. Although many think Wagner is out of the Cowboys’ extremely frugal price range, the front office should absolutely try to make this happen.

America’s Team needs to add more depth at linebacker to assist Micah Parsons. They did re-sign Leighton Vander Esch, but that was yet another underwhelming move. Now, the team needs another impact player.

Despite being 31 years old, Wagner can still play at a high level. Last year in Seattle, he had 170 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and was named second-team All-Pro. Adding Wagner will also allow Parsons to play on the edge and rush the passer across from DeMarcus Lawrence.

This would be an awesome pairing to give the Cowboys a proven winner at linebacker. Wagner could be the leader of the defense and be relied on to play the full season. In a league with a 100% injury rate, Wagner has only missed two games in the past seven seasons.

Since Dallas did not have to spend money on Gregory, they should use that money on a big signing like Wagner. They have plenty of cap space and are running out of excuses. This is a win-now move that the Joneses must pull the trigger on.
