Another former 2014 Carolina Panthers draft pick is on the market, and he is arguably the best remaining guard in free agency. Andrew Norwell is regarded as one of the best pass blocking guards and could immediately and confidently fill in the spot at left guard.

Norwell has spent his whole career at left guard so there will be no position shift necessary. Plus, having another veteran presence on the line could be very beneficial for McGovern and current Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz.

The Cowboys struggled with pass protection over the last half of the season and adding the former Ohio State Buckeye could help give Dak Prescott and the receivers more time to make things happen. With the losses of Williams and Amari Cooper, Prescott needs all the help he can get to keep the offense rolling throughout the season, and Norwell can help the cause.

Whether it’s letting McGovern get his chance to start or going out and getting a competitor in free agency or the draft, the Cowboys will need to add at least one more interior lineman. If the team can manage to get any of these players by the time training camp starts, it would make me feel a lot better about how the offense will fare this season.
