3 wide receivers the Cowboys should target in the 2022 NFL Draft
After the recent news that the Dallas Cowboys are “likely” to cut wide receiver Amari Cooper, the team is in desperate need of figuring out the wide receiver situation. The team signed WR Noah Brown to a one-year extension, but other than that CeeDee Lamb is pretty much the only receiver that isn’t a free agent. No matter how you feel about the impending Cooper decision, the Cowboys need to be fully prepared to figure out the depth chart at receiver. The 2022 NFL Draft could be a great place to do that.
Luckily for Dallas, this draft class is loaded at wide receiver. There are about five receivers projected to go in the first round. However, even outside the first-round guys, there is still a lot of depth in this class.

3. Skyy Moore, Western Michigan
If you take a look around the mock draft world you will see Skyy Moore being projected to the Cowboys quite often. After watching him play and workout at the NFL Combine it is not hard to see why. At Western Michigan, Moore dominated the competition in 2021. He caught 95 passes for 1,292 yards and 10 touchdowns. He showed off his elite quickness and speed along with efficient route running.
At the NFL Combine, Moore ran a 4.41-second 40-yard dash and showed off his great hands in the on-field drills. Speaking of his hands, they were measured as the largest at the combine of any wide receiver at 10.25″. His hand size is a big reason why he only dropped 6 passes in his college career.
Before the combine, Moore was projected to be a middle second-round pick. Now, with all the buzz around him, he could go much higher. The Cowboys are selecting 56th overall in the second round and the Western Michigan product should be at the top of their draft board. Scoring this receiver would be a huge benefit for the roster.
