Micah Parsons told Cowboys coaches he wants to play offense
It’s no secret that Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is very confident in his abilities. To be fair, he has reason to be. He can line up at multiple defensive positions. He excels at multiple sports. He takes any competition seriously. One of those abilities is his speed. The rookie ran an impressive 4.41-second 40-yard dash time at the Penn State Pro Day. He also won the Fastest Man race at the Pro Bowl Skills Competition.
Parsons is also confident enough to kick famed NFL broadcaster Rich Eisen out of his own desk during his appearance on the podcast. The two switched places and the rookie took it as an opportunity to ask Eisen a question “that’s been bothering him.” The Cowboy asked the broadcaster which scenario is more likely: Parsons running down the Cheetah (Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill) or the Cheetah being able to outrun Parsons.
Eisen starts to shrink into his chair. Everyone knows that Hill is one of the fastest athletes in the NFL. Parsons gave the broadcaster a staredown that essentially said “you know what the right decision is.” Eisen questions Parsons thought that he’s faster than Hill, but the Cowboy says that because it’s football there are angles and pursuits.
When asked if he would take on Hill for charity, Parsons said he won’t face him head-on again (like he did in the Pro Bowl race), but he would run a route against him. You have to appreciate that Parsons knows he beat him in a foot race once and wants to go out on top.
In addition to saying he believes he is faster than Tyreek “The Cheetah” Hill, Micah Parsons said he told the Cowboys that he wants to play offense
Eisen asked Parsons if he would want to play offense and without a moment of hesitation, the rookie said yes. The studio erupted in laughter, but the Cowboy’s face was dead serious. Parsons said he asked Mike McCarthy to play offense, and Eisen asked what happened. The Penn State product hilariously responded, “they obviously don’t see the vision I see.” Again, everyone was cracking up, and Parsons didn’t even crack a smile.
The show’s co-host TJ Jefferson chimed in and said that Parsons could probably kick field goals and extra points, too. To be honest, I don’t doubt that this rookie can do it better than Greg the Leg. He’s certainly more competitive.
