2. Chandler Jones, Edge, Arizona Cardinals

Edge rusher is a position the Cowboys absolutely need assistance in. With Randy Gregory a free agent and the potential that DeMarcus Lawrence gets cut, help is needed on the defensive front. In a dream world, the Cowboys would add one of the best in the league by signing Chandler Jones. PFF ranks Jones the No. 5 overall free agent player (not ranked by position) on their 200 best free agents list. Seven of Jones’ ten seasons in the NFL have resulted in him reaching double-digit sacks.

While some are nervous to let Gregory go, if Dallas had the money for Jones I’m sure they’d all be down for a Jones for Gregory swap. Yes, Gregory will command much less money but Jones is the much better player. Even at 31 years old, he contributed 10.5 sacks this last season.

Another reason Jones would be a great fit in Dallas is that he can continue to help develop Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons. Parsons mentioned in an interview with Taylor Rooks that Jones gave him pointers at the Pro Bowl about his first step.

With the experience and production of Jones throughout his career, it would be awesome to bring him to Dallas and provide experience for the whole defense. He has won a Super Bowl in New England and that is something he could help bring to the Cowboys.
