Derek Stingley Jr, Cornerback

Height: 6’1 Weight: 195lbs

Draft Projection: Day One

Career Stats: 73 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 6 interceptions, 20 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles

Derek Stingley Jr. is a player that would force the Cowboys to lose draft capital in order to add him to the roster. We know the Cowboys aren’t afraid to move up or down in pursuit of a player they really want, and Stingley Jr. could be that player for them this season. During his time at LSU Stingley Jr. has gone up against some of the best receivers in the nation and he held his own each time. He’s a well-rounded cornerback who can play man or zone and has the length that Dan Quinn really likes in cornerbacks.

His season was cut short this year due to a foot injury, but he has had plenty of time to recover and is set to display his skill set at the NFL Combine this month. He has talent that Dallas would welcome in an effort to pair him with recent Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs to create a tandem that teams will definitely have to gameplan for.
