3. Austin Deculus, Offensive Tackle/Guard

Height: 6’7  Weight: 325lbs

Draft Projection: Day Three

The Cowboys invested in offensive tackle Josh Ball last season but were unable to see what he could do thanks to an injury that kept him out last season. With depth at the position still a concern, the Cowboys could jump back into the tackle pool. Austin Deculus has the potential to be a nice addition.

The emergence of Terence Steele last season gave the Cowboys some optimism, but it’s never a bad thing to have an extra giant that could be paired with him. With Tyron Smith and La’el Collins having injury issues, depth is always helpful.

Deculus is a big guy that would be able to come in and help protect the right side of this offensive line if needed. He, like Hines, is a mauler and when he’s able to get his hand on a defender, they aren’t going to get around him. He’s not quite as athletically gifted as Hines (in my opinion) but he has more than enough skill to develop into the next starting tackle for the Cowboys down the road.
