2. Cordarrelle Patterson, Atlanta Falcons

Cordarrelle Patterson broke out in 2021, having the best season of his NFL career. His elite playmaking skills as a runner and receiver should have him set up for a nice payday. So, how will the Cowboys be able to afford him?

Well, Patterson will be 31 years old at the start of next season and has a history of getting injured. Also, most teams will probably feel his skill set does not fit in their offense if they are looking for a more traditional receiver. PFF has Patterson projected to get a two-year, $12 million deal.

For only $6 million a year the Cowboys would be nuts not to look into Patterson and how he could impact this offense. Last season, he rushed for 618 yards on 4.0 yards per carry, while also catching 52 passes for 548 yards. He even added 11 total touchdowns.

I am a big proponent of the more playmakers the better, and not only can Patterson impact the game on offense, but he is also a great kick returner. He has eight career kickoff returns for a touchdown.

Adding Patterson would allow the Cowboys to be more creative on offense. He can line up all over the field, and good things happen when you get the ball into his hands. If he can help open the offense back up like we saw the first half of last season, then this signing should be a no-brainer.
