Dallas Cowboys’ post-Senior Bowl mock draft roundup
5. Pro Football Network – DeMarvin Leal, DT, Texas A&M
Career stats: 133 total tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, 5 passes defended
"“With a few holes here and there on this Dallas Cowboys team, picking at No. 24 may not be where they want to look for certain positions. Instead, with how this draft class falls, DeMarvin Leal is the selection. Carlos Watkins is out, and they need to add a talented interior presence. That’s exactly what Leal is as he even has the potential to be the first interior defender taken come April.” – Cam Mellor, Pro Football Network"
The Cowboys have a lot of defensive tackles that are able to get after the quarterback on this roster. They also drafted a very talented one last year in Osa Odighizuwa who already showed he can make an impact.
I see the Cowboys going with a bigger body that is more adept at stopping the run, but Leal would still be a nice addition to a roster that still had issues stopping the run and generating pressure up the middle at times. He is another player that has the potential to go before Dallas selects at 24th overall.
