NFL Network (Daniel Jeremiah’s Mock Draft)

24. Nakobe Dean, Linebacker, Georgia

I think Nakobe Dean would be the ideal selection for the Cowboys at No. 24 as I wrote in my previous article. The Cowboys are completely depleted at linebacker with Leighton Vander Esch and Keanu Neal set to hit free agency.

Dean fits in perfectly with Micah Parsons, giving the Cowboys two elite athletes at linebacker. Also, having Dean means Parsons could spend more time rushing off the edge.

The only negative I have seen against Dean is that he is too small. Dean is 6-0, 225 pounds. But if you watch him play, that clearly does not affect him.

Linebacker must be addressed by the Cowboys at some point in this offseason so they might as well take the best one in the draft if he is still available.

As you can see, every mock draft gives us something different. Jerry and Stephen Jones are both at the Senior Bowl getting a good look at potential candidates. Only time will tell who gets to wear a Cowboys jersey next year.
