Final grades for each member of the Dallas Cowboys 2021 draft class

I have always liked offensive linemen that attended schools from the midwest. They seem to just be tough-nosed guys that embrace whatever a coaching staff tells them to do.

I was really paranoid about the backup center position in Dallas before the season but I am more comfortable after watching the limited reps Farniok received. Take a look at how All-Pro guard Zack Martin buried rookie linebacker JaCoby Stevens in the first video and compare it to how Farniok pancakes him on the second one.

I’m sure Stevens doesn’t care that Farniok was a seldomly used lineman. The way Farniok was able to get to the second level and allow the runner ample space to run is impressive. It is also just a flash.

Getting flashes late in the season from seventh-round draft picks is exactly the type of progress you hope to see. The starting center debate will probably go into Draft Day, but having a prospect that makes you raise your eyebrow is great scouting and development.

My grades for this rookie draft class might be a little harsh, but it is not a reflection of where they might end up. In fact, I have high hopes for the majority of these guys and this offseason is critical to their development. Quinn returning is great news for their development.
