With the Dallas Cowboys season officially coming to an end, it is time to look forward to the 2022 NFL Draft. The draft is three months away, but it is never too early to be looking at players that Dallas should target.

I released an article early this week highlighting the 3 biggest position needs for the Cowboys in the upcoming draft. With the Cowboys selecting 24th overall, we should take a look at some possible options for the ‘Boys at that pick.

Without further ado, here are some players the Cowboys should target in the 2022 NFL Draft.

5. Travon Walker, Defensive Line, Georgia

The Cowboys need help on the defensive line. Look no further than Travon Walker from the National Champion Georgia Bulldogs. Walker had 37 total tackles, six sacks and a team-high 36 QB hurries this past season at Georgia.

Walker is 6’5,” 275lbs, and he is a versatile defender that can play both inside and outside on the defensive line. The Cowboys are going to have serious defensive line issues with Randy Gregory, Carlos Watkins, Dorance Armstrong, and Brett Urban all hitting free agency.  It would be smart for Jerry Jones to address the line early on in the draft.

As you can see here, Walker plays hard. High-effort players are always great to have on your roster. With defensive coordinator Dan Quinn expected to take a head coaching job elsewhere, it will also be important to bring in a new defensive coordinator that can put versatile players, like Walker, in positions to succeed.
