Scouting Report. Penn State. MicahParsons. Linebacker/Edge Rusher. A+. player. 123. Pick Analysis

I’m sure you are not surprised that I gave Micah Parsons an A+. Parsons compared to any other elite defender in the league would spark a debate about which one is better. It amazes me what this kid was able to accomplish in his first season.

Parsons was giving animal names to teammates which also shows you that he is not afraid to speak his mind. I would imagine most rookies aren’t comfortable speaking out so this is a great sign. Players follow great football play, but it takes a special person to be able to lead and play by example.

Parsons was so impactful that he drew comparisons to New York Giants Hall of Fame defender Lawrence Taylor.

I guess you can add humility to this kid’s resume also. With questions surrounding the futures of some of the Cowboys high priced free agents, it is unquestionable that Parsons appears to be the leader of this defense.

Parsons recorded 13 sacks, 84 tackles, 20 tackles for loss (TFL), and 30 quarterback hits. Parsons played in 78.54% of all defensive snaps. His 904 defensive snaps played ranked third on the team behind Anthony Brown (1048), Trevon Diggs (1015), and Jayron Kearse (1014).

I fully expect Parsons to have the “C” on his jersey next season indicating that his teammates voted for him to be a team captain.
