Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy has no idea what Nickelodeon Slime is
You can watch the Dallas Cowboys take on the San Francisco 49ers in many ways on Sunday. The game will be broadcast on CBS, Paramount+, and Amazon Prime Video. But it will also be broadcast on Nickelodeon. Yes, the place where kids watch cartoons.
This will be the second time Nickelodeon is showing a Wild Card playoff game, after the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears Wild Card game last year was a huge success for the network. The broadcast will feature SpongeBob graphics, kid-focused content, Nick character guest appearances, and of course, slime.
If you have watched Nickelodeon any time since the 1980s, you know that this channel loves slime.
Apparently, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy hasn’t tuned his TV to Nickelodeon for over 40 years. When a reporter asked him if he’d be willing to get slimed by Nickelodeon, he had a hilarious response.
Ahead of the Wild Card game vs 49ers on Nickelodeon, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy reveals he has no idea what slime is
Come on, Mike! According to the internet, slime was first used on Nickelodeon in 1979!
The good news is… he didn’t say no. He said, “Anything for the children.” There’s a lot on the line for the HC in this game. I’m willing to bet that if the Cowboys can pull off a victory against a hot Niners team, McCarthy will gladly have a bunch of green goo poured on him.
If he does, he will join an A-list of celebrities who have been slimed. Athletes such as David Beckham, Russell Wilson, Lindsey Vonn, Rob Gronkowski, Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Von Miller, Marshawn Lynch, and many more have all been slimed.
You can’t go on the record saying “anything for the children,” and then back out. Here’s a preview for you, coach!
And, in case you’re wondering: yes, a ton of slime has already arrived at JerryWorld.
Plenty of the team’s stars seem completely on board with what awaits them in victory.
If it’s not McCarthy, which Cowboys player do you want to see slimed? I’m sure the green goo will go great with the White-Out vibe Dallas is going for.
