1. Use The Offensive Weapons

There’s no doubt that the Cowboys have talent on the offensive side of the ball. The offense has the weapons to succeed, and they just need to finally show that they can. Having a roster with this much talent be so inconsistent is very frustrating.

Sadly, Michael Gallup is out for the season with an ACL tear. But, both of the Cowboys outside wide receivers, Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb, are former first-round picks who can be great. These receivers have also shown that they can compete and are one of the best duos in the national football league.

On the season, Lamb has 77 catches for 1,057 yards and six touchdowns. He also sees to be quarterback Dak Prescott’s favorite target.

On the other side, the former Alabama wideout has had a very disappointing 2021 season. He only has 63 catches for 786 yards and eight touchdowns. This will mark his first full season in Dallas where he won’t eclipse over 1,000 receiving yards.

However, this isn’t entirely Cooper’s fault. He simply isn’t getting targeted and has expressed his frustrations on this.

It’s not ideal to see Dallas’ number one option being this upset about his targets. However, he does have a point. Cooper only has 97 targets on the season and only three games over 10 targets.

Despite not utilizing the former first-round pick, he is still a talented wide receiver who is said to be one of the best route runners in the league. As a result, Prescott has to do a better job of getting Cooper the ball.

Aside from the wide receiver position, the Cowboys have the option to use both running backs, Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. Dallas has to get their running game going, but more importantly, get Pollard out in space in the running and passing game. The former Memphis star has gotten more and more work in each game, but getting the speedy back his touches will only help this team come playoff time.

There is also a lot of talent on the offensive line as well. This offensive line has likely two Hall of Fame players in guard Zack Martin and tackle Tyron Smith.

Nonetheless, Dallas needs to create plays for their playmakers like Lamb, Cooper, and Pollard and get them out into space. Having the amount of talent that the Cowboys have on offense is for sure a strength of this team, but it comes down to if Prescott can get it to them. If the offense can turn things around, this team has a chance.
