Former NFL cornerback Aqib Talib guest-starred on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” on Tuesday morning. When talking about who has the potential to knock off Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs, Talib said he believes in the Dallas Cowboys.

The basis of his argument? Unsurprisingly, the dominating Cowboys defensive squad.

The five-time Pro Bowler said the defense is “on fire right now.” He complimented the defensive front and told the broadcasters that he truly believes defense wins championships. Talib complimented guys like Neville Gallimore, DeMarcus Lawrence, and rookie Micah Parsons.

The former cornerback continued to say that if any team is going to head to the tundra and make it out alive, it has to be a team with a lights-out defense. He believes the Cowboys are just that.

Aqib Talib thinks Cowboys can beat Packers and says Trevon Diggs looks like the best cornerback in the NFL.

The person who stands out to him the most, though, is the one who holds his former position: Trevon Diggs. When Kay Adams asked if Talib was impressed with Diggs, the former pro said he thinks Diggs is looking like the best cornerback in the league. He continued:

"“I am super impressed with Trevon Diggs. The ball skills. And that speed is underrated. You don’t know how fast that boy is. He could fly.”"

Apparently, Diggs and Talib spend a lot of time together in the off-season. Talib said that he and Diggs talk football, practice together, and pick each other’s brains in the off months. The former All-Pro said he tells the second-year player what to look for, where to focus his eyes, practice techniques, and more. They do so at Talib’s premier sports facility in Carrollton, TX called “A+D1.”

After the segment aired, Talib took to Twitter to tag the Cowboys and tell them not to let him down. Let’s hope his premonition comes to fruition!
