Thursday, Dec 2. 15. Cowboys -4.5. 8:20 PM ET. 7-4. 123. NFL Network. 5-6

Heading into Week 13’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints, all eyes will be on America’s Team. Things haven’t been good for the Cowboys as these last two weeks have resulted in frustrating losses and well, a lack of consistency.

All hope is not lost as the Cowboys, 7-4 at this point in the season, are still on top of the NFC East with just a handful of games left to be played to make their case for a postseason appearance. Hopefully, they get back on track in Week 13, beat the Saints, and get right back into the spotlight for all the right reasons.

When it comes to the top player prop bet to make for this game, it’s an interesting one this week over at WynnBET. The top theme this week is “First TD Scorer and Team To Win” as there are some incredible odds that might be worth betting on if everything falls into place. Take a look below:

First TD Scorer and Team To Win – Tony Pollard and Dallas Cowboys (+1000)

Yes, the odds for this are rare but considering a $100 bet can earn you $2,000 if this ends up happening is a pretty sweet deal. Now, keep in mind, there are several factors leading to why this could very well happen.

It’s no secret that running back Ezekiel Elliott is dealing with a lingering knee injury that’s limiting his ability to do what he does best. We’ve seen some nice flashes of brilliance by running back Tony Pollard throughout the season to the point where he’s due for a big game.

We’ll have to wait until Thursday to see if Elliott will be out or probable to play for the Cowboys but either way, it looks like Pollard will more than likely be given more reps against the Saints regardless. Pollard is due for a big game since it’s been since Week 2 when he had a 100+ rushing attack.

Last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, Pollard totaled just 36 yards on 10 rushing attempts and zero touchdowns. As a matter of fact, it’s also been since Week 2 that he even scored a rushing touchdown as with Elliott’s status still up in the air, a heavy dosage of Pollard could be exactly what the Cowboys do to get back to their winning ways.

The last thing the Cowboys want to do is put quarterback Dak Prescott in a position where he has to do everything. A balanced offensive attack should do the trick with a heavy emphasis on the ground game. The Saints’ rush defense used to be very good but over these past few weeks, has been struggling against the run.

The Saints rank 12th in total defense but their rush defense has been inconsistent as of late. In the past two weeks alone they’ve given up over 350 rushing yards which should be an area that the Cowboys undoubtedly focus their attack on. Feeding the rock to Pollard to establish the run would be key since he should be able to get the job done and then some.

Cowboys are averaging 107.3 yards per game and when they have at least 100+ rushing yards in a football game, they tend to leave victorious. They’ve been too reliant on the passing attack and going into Thursday’s game against the Saints, it would behoove the Cowboys to commit to the ground game to set the tone early on while making it a focus.

Cowboys vs Saints Week 13: History, players to watch, gut prediction. light. Hot

Considering everything, if Pollard does get the nod to get more snaps and even start at running back for the Cowboys if Elliott is limited or misses the game, taking him in this WynnBET top player prop bet could be huge. Hopefully, Pollard sets the tone, scores the first touchdown of the game, and the Cowboys win to end up 8-4 once all is said and done.
