Dallas Cowboys: Latest updates on Dak Prescott’s injury are good
The Week 7 bye for the Dallas Cowboys couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Besides being able to enjoy a well-deserved break from game day action, it helps tremendously with any players dealing with injuries. Such is the case with quarterback Dak Prescott and the Week 6 scare regarding his injury.
In a thrilling overtime win over the New England Patriots in Week 6, Prescott, unfortunately, suffered a calf strain injury on the final game-winning touchdown play of the game. He was noticeably limping after the game, much to the concern of coaches, teammates, and fans.
As of right now, the latest updates on Prescott’s calf injury are good. In an article written by Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News, he confirmed some great news for the Cowboys heading into their Week 8 road game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Dak Prescott should be good to go with the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8
Watkins confirmed that not only is Prescott out of the protective boot he’s been in since Week 7 but is said to be feeling a lot better. Of course, we’ll know more this week when the Cowboys have their practices for Sunday’s matchup on how Prescott is looking but all signs point to him being ready and starting under center.
The Cowboys are on a five-game winning streak and continue to look better after every passing week. Even though some might feel a bye week during a hot streak can disrupt the task at hand, considering Prescott was dealing with an injury and others as well on the Cowboys, it’s exactly what the doctor ordered.
As the Cowboys are soon about to hit the second half of the regular season, it’s imperative that not only Prescott stay healthy but that they continue their winning ways. The creativity on offense, the aggressiveness on defense, and the consistency on special teams are all doing wonders for this team and are expected to continue.
At the rate the Cowboys are going, 2021 will indeed be an unforgettable season if not already. They’ve been a lot of fun to watch and even though they’re not perfect just yet, the little improvements and adjustments we’ve been seeing on a daily basis are making America’s Team the team to keep an eye on this season. Thankfully, Prescott can continue to lead the charge without fans having to worry about this calf strain injury.
