Dallas Cowboys: 5. Cedrick Wilson’s 4th down reception

On 4th & 4 with 1:28 to play in the game, and the Cowboys trailing by three, Dak Prescott hit Cedrick Wilson for 13 yards on what was an acrobatic catch from Wilson that extend the game in Dallas’ favor. Failure to convert would have most likely ended the game but Wilson came through.

Wilson has continued to step up in the absence of Michael Gallup, he ended Sunday’s game with 4 receptions for 42 yards. Dak Prescott clearly believes in him as he threw him a really tough ball on 4th down and trusted him to make a play.

These are the types of plays that winning teams make in big spots. Making big plays in high-leverage situations will only increase the confidence of the offense and the players on it. Unlike the previous few games, the Cowboys were tested for all four quarters, making everything seem like a do-or-die situation.

With Gallup expected back for the week 8 game against Minnesota it will be interested to see if Wilson will cut into Gallup’s snap. Either way, the Cowboys know they have at least four receivers that can be counted on in big moments.
