Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott beyond excited for first home game of 2021
Fans of the Dallas Cowboys couldn’t ask for a bigger home opening game than what will transpire in Week 3. The Cowboys will be making yet another national primetime appearance in front of the football world on Monday Night Football against their NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles. Not only will this be a special game due to it being a division matchup but will hold a special meaning for quarterback Dak Prescott.
After 2020’s horrific ankle injury that saw Prescott need practically a year to get surgery, rehab, and work his way back into being ready for pro football again, it’s a great sight to see him back under center. Considering that over the past two weeks now, he’s been playing above-average football, it looks like he hasn’t missed a beat from where he left off from last season.
After watching Prescott do what he does best over these past few weeks, he looks even better than ever before, to be honest. He’s making big plays, smart decisions, and looks like he’s ready to take the NFL by storm once again in his young career.
Dak Prescott is ready for a special moment at home with the Dallas Cowboys
One can only imagine how emotional it will be for Prescott to take the field in Week 3 in AT&T Stadium for the first time since that devastating game in 2020. It will be flat-out amazing to see the kind of reception and the likely standing ovation Prescott will get once Cowboys Nation sees him hit the home field for the very first time this season.
In an article written by Todd Archer of ESPN.com, here’s what Prescott had to say about how much it means to him being back home for this premier Week 3 matchup on Monday Night Football:
"“I think it will be more special just because of the amount of Cowboys fans that will be there versus the away games. “I mean, obviously the first two they traveled great and felt the energy and felt that, but just knowing that the support that they’ve given me over these past, I guess, going on a year, was important, was something that I felt.”"
Overall, expect to see Prescott continue being in his true form and then some because it’s yet another achievement in what should be a prolific career on America’s Team. For him to come back so quickly from a season-ending injury and perform as great as he has so far isn’t easy as it goes to show why he’s easily the face, heart, and spirit of this franchise. The kind of team player that will do whatever it takes to put his teammates in a position to succeed and continue to make the most of these golden opportunities on the Cowboys.
