Dallas Cowboys: Breaking down the latest with Ty Nsekhe out for Week 2
When it rains, it pours. Can heading into Week 2 get any worse for the Dallas Cowboys? They’ve had everything from players being suspended, injuries, players landing on the COVID-19 list, and now, an injury right out of practice on Friday.
Unfortunately for the Cowboys, their offensive line got hit with some more bad news. Offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe will, unfortunately, miss Sunday’s road game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
As reported and confirmed by Jonny Auping of DallasCowboys.com, Neskhe suffered heat illness symptoms during practice on Thursday. It got to the point where he had to go to the hospital for medical attention. As Nsekhe spent the night in the hospital, head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that he’ll be out for Sunday’s Week 2 matchup.
Ty Nsekhe will miss Week 2 action due to heat illness symptoms
At this point in time, Nsekhe was released from the hospital earlier on Friday morning but is in no shape to compete in Week 2. It makes sense considering that anything involving heat illness symptoms should definitely be taken seriously but it couldn’t have come at a worse time.
The Cowboys’ offensive line will continue to play musical chairs when it comes to the rotations they’re going to have at tackle and guard against the Chargers. Considering they have a tall task ahead of themselves in trying to keep Joey Bosa at bay, is already going to be problematic but now even more so with another offensive lineman added to the injury list.
It looks like McCarthy will go into some kind of rotation at the right tackle position between Terence Steele and Brandon Knight. Hopefully, the Cowboys’ offensive line can get the job done in pass protection and setting up good rushing lanes since the team needs to get their first win of the season to get back on the right track this season.
