Dallas Cowboys: 2. Pressure Justin Herbert

The Cowboys have to get pressure on quarterback Justin Hebert in this game. However, it might be harder than the team expected. On Monday, defensive end Randy Gregory was placed on the COVID reserve list, putting him in jeopardy of playing on Sunday.

Furthermore, the Cowboys suffered an even bigger loss on Wednesday as they lost possibly not only their best pass rusher but their best defender. Defensive end Demarcus Lawrence suffered a broken foot and is now expected to be out 6-8 weeks, a big loss for this team. As a result, it’s likely going to be a lot harder for this group to bring pressure now. Defensive ends Dorance Armstrong and Tarell Basham will probably need to step up in their place.

Last week, Herbert was able to carve up the Washington defense, one of the best in the league. He threw for 337 yards and one passing touchdown while only getting sacked two times for three yards. The Washington defense struggled to get pressure on the former Oregon product, which is why he looked so comfortable in the pocket.

However, the Cowboys have to do what Washington didn’t, get to Herbert. With his strong arm, if they don’t bring pressure, he will probably throw for over 350 yards in this game.
