Dallas Cowboys: 1. Get Zeke involved

Last week, running back Ezekiel Elliott wasn’t involved in the game at all. Although he played 83 percent of the snaps, nothing was going for him in the run game. The former Pro Bowler had 11 carries for just 33 yards in the season opener.

Even though the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had the best-run defense from a season ago (82.7 rush yards per carry), the Cowboys could have involved Elliott in other ways.

Getting “Zeke” involved will help Prescott out as well. For starters, having the former rookie of the year throw 50-60 times a game isn’t something that should happen every game. Creating opportunities for the former rushing title winner could help this offense immensely.

The rushing game in this matchup should fair to be a better one than a week ago. Last season, the Chargers gave up 119.8 rush yards per game and 4.5 yards per carry which ranked middle of the pack. In Week 1, running back Antonio Gibson was able to have a solid rushing day as he carried the ball 20 times for 90 yards (4.5 yards per carry).

As a result, the Cowboys should let Zeke get outside, use his speed and be heavily involved in the game plan. With Zack Martin back in action for this group too, this will probably help with the production of the 26-year-old running back.
