The NFL Draft is where teams build for the future. A team’s success on the field is usually handcuffed to how well they’ve drafted. If a team doesn’t have multiple selections in the top 100 due to bad trading, there is a slim chance of making it a productive draft.

However, in the Jacksonville Jaguars‘ case, your draft can shift a franchise by having multiple first and second-round picks. The unknown of the draft is what’s so special and entertaining. It’s like going on a first date. In the first 30 minutes, you’ll know if it’s going great or heading downhill.

We’ll be looking at a specific player from the Dallas Cowboys 2021 draft class throughout the season against a player from their opponent’s 2021 class. It will be a matchup of potential, hype, production on the field, and expectations.

For Week 1, it’s linebacker Micah Parsons going against linebacker Joe Tryon-Shoyinka.

Both players were selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. Even though they haven’t seen any snaps in the regular season, there’s plenty of film to analyze from the preseason and training camp.
