Tight End – Blake Jarwin

Jarwin is coming back after missing just about all of last season with a torn ACL. He seems to be slotted back in as TE1 on the Cowboys. Unfortunately for Jarwin, the Cowboys have so many other options on offense that it appears he will be fifth in line for targets behind the three receivers and Zeke.

I do not see Jarwin being very effective in 10-12 team leagues this season, but he could have some value in 14+ team leagues. He best sets up as a bye week fill-in for fantasy purposes, unless an injury occurs to one of the Cowboys’ skill players.

The Cowboys Defense

After being one of the worst units in all of fantasy football last season the defense hopes to rebound in 2021. I still do not think they should be drafted as a top 12 defense due to so much uncertainty.

Dallas added some big names such as Micah Parsons, Keanu Neal, and Malik Hooker to their defense but fantasy football is all about creating turnovers. That is something we need to see out of this unit before we can trust starting them in fantasy.

Once the Cowboys’ D starts to create more turnovers they can become a great mid-season waiver wire pickup. But for now, they are a unit I would only consider playing against poor offensive teams.

Kicker – Greg Zuerlein

Greg “The Leg” has always been a solid fantasy kicker throughout his career. Partly because he has been a part of some good offenses. Zuerlein was given the nickname “The Leg” due to his ability to make long field goals, something that is very important in fantasy football.

The only question is his health. He has yet to kick in the preseason or training camp due to a back injury. The expectation is that Zuerlein will be full-go by week one though. “The Leg” should be considered a top-7 fantasy kicker, but should not be selected until the final two rounds of your draft.
