Stock Up: Cooper Rush, QB

While Cooper Rush played much better than Gilbert, it’s unclear whether the Cowboys are ready to hand over the primary backup job to him either. The fifth-year veteran passer has yet to start a single game in the NFL and has a total of three regular-season passing attempts under his half-decade belt.

And while his impressive stat-line from Saturday night, 10 of 12 for 97 yards and two scores with a passer rating of 139.9 certainly boosts his stock, Dallas simpy needs more experience backing up a player like Prescott coming off a season-ending leg injury.

Stock Down: Ben DiNucci, QB

Saturday’s performance against the Texans might have been the nail in the coffin in what has been quarterback Ben DiNucci‘s short NFL career. Although DiNucci made some impressive plays at times, his three interceptions in one half, including a costly pick-six, are impossible to ignore.

While DiNucci could remain in Dallas as the perfect scout team quarterback on the practice squad, he’s clearly dropping further and further down the depth chart behind Gilbert and Rush. And the fact his play is getting worse the closer we approach final cuts doesn’t bode well for the former seventh-rounder.
