Cowboys at Cardinals: 5 things we’re watching closely for
The Micah Parsons show
Anyone who watched Hard Knocks this week knows that rookie linebacker Micah Parsons was chomping at the bit for more action in the Hall of Fame game. To the point where he begged defensive coordinator Dan Quinn for more snaps as he was just starting to feel comfortable.
Parsons racked up three tackles and a fumble recovery in two defensive series to start the game and was promptly shelved. The 22-year old was all over the field in his preseason debut and we can’t wait to see more of him against the Cardinals.
The Micah Parsons hype train is leaving the station. All aboard!
More missed field goals
Against the Steelers last week, Hunter Niswander proved he’s a much better punter than a field goal kicker. He went one for three on field-goal attempts, missing a 52-yarder in not-so hilarious fashion to end the low-scoring first half.
That’s not a big deal considering former All-Pro kicker Greg Zuerlein is cemented as the starter in Dallas and is currently recovering from offseason back surgery. But Zuerlein should be ready to start the regular season (if not earlier) and he’s already started kicking according to DallasCowboys.com.
But while Zuerlein continues to rehab, expect Niswander to continue with field-goal duties in the meantime. Just remember that with every missed attempt to take a deep breath, and tell yourself over and over again that this is only the preseason.
