2. Rico Dowdle

Dowdle was the offensive star of the game as he showed explosiveness and quickness throughout the night. The undrafted free agent had eight carries for 43 yards, also caught two passes for 16 yards.

Rico’s best run of the game came from the one-yard line where he broke through the line and picked up 25 yards when the offense had their backs against the wall. He showed good vision to find the hole especially because he was playing with the backup offensive line.

Obviously, the Cowboys have Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard as the two main running backs on the roster but Dowdle showed he could be a great third option. Also, he contributed on special teams last season which gives him an even better chance of making the roster.

I doubt we see much of Zeke this preseason so Dowdle should continue to get plenty of run over the next three games.
