The third-round draft pick out of Oregon State was a highly scrutinized pick on draft day. But, he has shown flashes as to why the Cowboys selected him on day two.

Wright had a good training camp leading up to the Hall of Fame game, and he has similar success on Thursday night. Where Wright was most impressive was in his tackling, as he made a few stops behind or at the line of scrimmage.

Wright made five tackles in the game including four that were solo, leading the team. For a defensive back to have that kind of tackling production is very encouraging.

The rookie was beaten on a 45-yard reception by Chase Claypool in the first quarter (even though Claypool pushed off) but he was right with the Steelers’ wideout before he made the diving catch. Wright’s coverage for the most part was not bad during the game and it was a good start to his NFL career.
