The Dallas Cowboys have traditionally been known for their, sometimes, superfluous yet ineffective approach, but the recent change may be real.

While last season and the defensive ineptitude made the masses question all of that again, some of that could even be placed on the fact that they had lost Dak Prescott early on in the year to a terrible lower leg injury, where losing your franchise guy always places more pressure on the defense.

That is no excuse, it’s typically just what happens.

Even still though, for all the faith-currency the Cowboys had built up over the past few years with smart and efficient football moves, the horrible defense of last season left an awful taste in the mouths of anyone who was unfortunate enough to want to consume it.

While it’s no sure thing that the Cowboys have totally righted that side of the ball either, with their quarterback back in tow and a slew of other moves of note, last year may have been the outlier relative to the new Cowboys normal.

These Cowboys and their new philosophy of attempting to do things the right way, may be here to stay.
