1. Signing Dak Prescott

Signing Prescott was arguably the best move the Dallas Cowboys made all offseason. The former rookie of the year signed a four-year, $160 million contract in March. This deal guarantees that Dallas gets their star quarterback for at least four more seasons.

It’s no surprise that the Cowboys gave Prescott approximately $40 million a season. After months and months of deliberation, Dallas likely gave the former Pro Bowler what he wanted. At the end of the day, they didn’t want to let their star quarterback walk and play for another franchise.

In five seasons with the Cowboys, the former fourth-round pick has been elite. He has a career record of 42-27 with 15 game-winning drives and 17,634 passing yards. Additionally, Prescott ranks sixth all-time in touchdown-to-interception ratio (2.65).

There’s no doubt that Prescott could be considered a top-seven quarterback in the league. He has thrown a total of 106 touchdowns and 40 interceptions in his career. However, he has yet to bring the Cowboys past the divisional round.

As a result, many fans could think of this contract as a negative thing. With this big of a deal, the Cowboys can likely kiss goodbye to signing any big-name players in the future. Nevertheless, locking up your franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future is probably one of the best feelings for teams.

Although Prescott hasn’t led the Cowboys to a Super Bowl yet, the 27-year-old quarterback is just getting going. After his phenomenal 2020 season was cut short, he will hopefully bounce back and continue his stellar play this upcoming season.
