It has been announced that the Dallas Cowboys will be featured on this season’s HBO series, Hard Knocks. The last time the Cowboys were featured on this series was in 2008. That season Dallas went 9-7 and finished third in the NFC East.

Some fans might be skeptical of having the distraction of camera crews following the team around during training camp. But I believe this is great news for the Cowboys and especially their fans.

Getting inside access to your favorite team is something that all fans want but rarely get. This opportunity changes that. Here are seven main attractions I believe fans should be looking for when Hard Knocks begins airing on August 10.

1. The Return of Dak Prescott

Training camp will be the first look fans get at the Cowboys’ newly re-signed quarterback as he returns from offseason ankle surgery. Hard Knocks should give fans a look at Dak Prescott’s recovery, along with his day-by-day activities that will hopefully set him up to be ready for Week One.

2. Mike McCarthy’s presence

Fans still seem uncertain about Mike McCarthy as he heads into his second year as the Cowboys head coach. Having him on Hard Knocks will give us a look at how he interacts with the team. Including team meetings and the dreaded cutting of players to get the roster to 53. This is a huge season for McCarthy as he must lead this team to the playoffs or he very well could be on the hot seat.
