2. Mike McCarthy’s coaching style

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy will likely be a focal point of this series. His coaching style will be on full display for the first time in his career. His former team, the Green Bay Packers, have never been featured on Hard Knocks.

When the Cowboys signed the former Super Bowl-winning head coach, they considered this to change the entire franchise around. However, they went just 6-10 in his first season with the team. Furthermore, McCarthy hasn’t had a winning season in the NFL since 2016 with the Packers.

After a disappointing season for Dallas, McCarthy will possibly be on one of the main storylines of this five-part series. A couple of years ago, the world got to see the coaching style of Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden with his famous slogan “knock on wood if you’re with me.”

McCarthy has to show that he can still be a winning coach in the NFL because if he doesn’t, there’s a chance that he could be on the hot seat. According to some online betting sites, Dallas’ head coach is the favorite to be the first one fired in 2021.

As a result, if McCarthy is currently on the hot seat or not, Hard Knocks allows us to see his coaching style firsthand. Everyone will also get to see how he plans to get his team ready for their season opener against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
