The Dallas Cowboys are in the midst of OTAs and currently have a roster bloated with talent. The next few months will involve training these players and eventually trimming down the roster in preparation for the regular season.

But as it stands today, following the events of the offseason like free agency and the 2021 NFL Draft, which of the Cowboys’ positional groups are the most stocked with talent? Here is our best guess to answer that very question with our pick of the top three.

#3 – Linebacker

After the events of the 2021 NFL Draft, it’s clear that the linebacker corps belongs on this list. Before the draft, this unit already featured two Pro Bowlers in Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch. Although both surely have their issues. Smith is coming off another down season despite posting gaudy tackle numbers while Vander Esch has struggled to stay healthy.

But landing Penn State monster Micah Parsons in the first round of the draft and LSU linebacker Jabril Cox in the fourth have more than doubled the talent level at this position. Throw in Dan Quinn’s move to sign safety Keanu Neal and shift him to linebacker, and suddenly this position is bursting at the seams.

And that’s despite losing two quality veterans in Sean Lee and Joe Thomas this offseason. Lee opted to retire from the NFL at 11 plagued years while Thomas was a free agent who signed with the Houston Texans.
