This is the second time I grabbed the defensive tackle out of USC. Look guys, the Dallas Cowboys have to attack the running backs. The team cannot allow a repeat of last season where mobile quarterbacks and flashy runners gutted the defense left and right.

This cannot happen. I believe a big fix should come from plugging the hole in the middle of the line. The Dallas Cowboys lost Tyrone Crawford to retirement, so some resources have to go in this direction.

Numbers, please?

Jay Tufele played two seasons with USC. He grabbed 65 tackles, a pass deflection, and 7.5 sacks. In 2019 alone, he recorded 4.5 sacks. He turns 22 this July.

Injury bug?

Tufele did not play his final season with USC because of a torn ligament in his foot. This is something to watch for, and possibly an aspect that lands him in the third round for the Cowboys to draft him.

Overall, I like his upside and believe he can have an impact on his rookie season. During his time with USC, he earned the All-Pac award twice. He earned it in 2019 with the first team, and in 2018 with the second team.

I think this defensive tackle has potential, and the ceiling could be a fruitful one for the Cowboys. I’d be interested to see what the new defensive regime can do with Tufele.
