Cowboys go defensive heavy in new seven round mock draft
By Tyrone Starr
Round 4, Pick 115
Walker Little, OT – Stanford
Pro Day Results: 24 bench press reps, 111-inch broad jump, 29.5-inch vertical jump
Some might think addressing the offensive line this “late” is a scary proposition given what occurred in 2020. I tend to be on the side of thinking that was more of a fluke, however.
Yes, Tyron Smith’s injury history is starting to become an issue, but I just don’t see losing three starters for most of the year happening again.
Little would come in and challenge the likes of Brandon Knight and Terence Steele for that backup swing tackle spot, however.
Little seems to do better against the speed rushers of the world than the power guys but a year or so in an NFL weight room may be the biggest fix for that.
Round 4, Pick 138
Monty Rice, LB – Georgia
Pro Day Results: 4.58 – 40-yard dash, 32-inch vertical jump, 121-inch broad jump
Not only did I decide to double up on the linebacker position, but I have also doubled up on Georgia Bulldogs with the selection of Rice.
As I stated earlier, I think this is an underrated position of need for the Dallas Cowboys.
Rice may not be a burner at the position and he will need time to refine his play in coverage, but he is a smart player who also seems to be around the ball, making the right play.
