Folks, we are getting so close to the 2021 NFL Draft. The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for April 29, and you should be too!

Since my last three-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft, one name has remained constant in the Dallas atmosphere: Kyle Pitts. You know, the superstar tight end out of Florida. But I got some news for you dear readers.

My stance, my priorities, have not changed for this vital NFL Draft. The Dallas Cowboys must emphasize defense. In recent weeks, social media and expert analyzers warn doom and gloom against a team drafting for need in opposition for the best player available.

Look, you can slide through the old timelines and present examples where these types of scenarios played out against the Cowboys. Bobby Carpenter (linebacker) anyone? Or, how about Randy Moss (wide receiver)?

I understand the paralysis one gets when someone says the words, “Greg Ellis.” I get it. But allow me to remind you that the best of the best of these expert pickers do not own or will ever own a crystal ball.

In this case of Kyle Pitts, his stardom is taking over the NFL media, as it should be. He is a player of intrigue. In reality, his stock has risen so much that I doubt the Cowboys will even see him on the board by the time the 10th overall pick is called upon.

Of course, this may make Jerry Jones, the owner, and general manager of Big D, jittery. If the Dallas Cowboys move up from the 10th spot, the costs will pound the organization for years. I can’t imagine the resources a team would have to give up to even get there, and frankly, I don’t want to know!

And then there’s the correct, yet so simple, solution. If Patrick Surtain II is there, take him. No fancy maneuvers and second thoughts. The Dallas Cowboys need defense and addressing the cornerback spot is a must.

With that in mind, let’s dive into this three-round 2021 NFL Mock Draft 4.0. As always, hit the comments section to let us know your thoughts and observations. Are you sold on Surtain? Or would you rather Big D jump around to grab Pitts?
