There are more than a few mock drafts out there so I am going to try my best to guess what the Dallas Cowboys are going to do. It is hard enough to try and pick players let alone project trades outside of the first round so I will refrain from doing so.

Most of the talk is centered on who the Dallas Cowboys will select in the first round but we are all forgetting how important the roles all the other draft selections and undrafted free agents have on a football team.

The first round gets all of the glamour but after grinding for a few months watching film and grading prospects, the time has come to fill in the draft spots with actual names who are just as important to team building.

A few years ago, I picked up that the Dallas Cowboys usually have their draft board set roughly two or three weeks prior to the draft. I cannot recall where I heard this information but I have always tried to set my board around that time frame.

With the pandemic giving me extra time to study at home, I am finally ready to conduct a Dallas Cowboys mock draft that does not involve any trades.

The team did a fantastic job of drafting players last year and I hope the team doesn’t regress the following year. If you haven’t noticed, starting in 2013, the team has had a good year drafting in even years and missed in odd years.

2020, 2018, 2016, and 2014 have seen some great foundation pieces while 2019, 2017, 2015 and 2013 draft classes have been pedestrian to put it kindly. Sure they drafted a good player in those years but has mostly left the team and fans wanting more from the class as a whole.

I believe that the following mock draft can help the Dallas Cowboys break this frustrating cycle and propel the team into a bona fide contender.
