Round 3, Pick 11: Divine Deablo

• Saftey, Virginia Tech
• Height/Weight: 6-3, 226 lbs.

The Dallas Cowboys continue the defense trend by selecting safety Divine Deablo with the 75th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Along with rookie cornerback Aaron Robinson, the Cowboys bolster their defensive backfield by adding safety in the third round.

Other than having a super cool name, Deablo presents some exciting talents for the Cowboys. Divine Deablo actually started out as a three-star wide receiver. After his freshman year at Virginia Tech, he was moved to the safety position and hasn’t looked back.

Virginia Tech did not make a mistake. In 2020 alone, the safety totaled four interceptions, 55 tackles, four pass deflections, and one forced fumble.

I like Deablo’s ability and versatility. He could also serve with the special teams unit. The main question is whether Deablo will be there at the 75th overall spot? And more importantly, will the Dallas Cowboys prioritize the safety position in the draft, or is securing help in the free agency satisfactory?
