Round 2, Pick 12: Aaron Robinson

• Cornerback, University of Central Florida
• Height/Weight: 6-1, 193 lbs.

The Cowboys land some much-needed cornerback help. After going with Kyle Pitts in the first round, the team addressed the cornerback room in the second round. Enter Aaron Robinson, a Florida native.

Robinson has four college seasons under his belt. He started out with Alabama his first year and then traveled over to UCF.

Overall, he has accumulated 109 tackles, 17 pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and three picks. The Cowboys lost cornerback Chidobe Awuzie to the Cincinnati Bengals. Awuzie, also a second-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys, signed a three-year, $21,750,000 contract.

With Awuzie out, the Cowboys replace him with another second-round draft choice. It’ll be interesting to see how Robinson and Trevon Diggs pair up in the defensive backfield. Both have a physical, feisty fight to them in their game.

Will this translate to more turnovers? With Diggs growing up with rookie pains, he did show several positive flashes last season. Perhaps, a year older means a year better. Without a question, Diggs will need help. So, with Aaron Robinson on his way, the Cowboys secure talent and improve the cornerback spots.
