It has been an emotional whirlwind as the players we all targeted for the Dallas Cowboys happily signed elsewhere while the Cowboys dug for deals. It hasn’t all been disappointing as the team was able to acquire some players that can help this defense become respectable.

I have been on record saying a middle-of-the-pack defense would be good enough to get into the playoffs with a healthy offense moving forward. The Cowboys have added some intriguing pieces and I wonder if they are on the verge of starting a trend on defense.

I will talk about that more in a later post but what else can the Cowboys do to make this roster better specifically on defense?

The team is hosting both free-agent free safeties Malik Hooker and Damontae Kazee and I am pretty confident that one of them will be a Dallas Cowboys addition if they haven’t already. I am on the “sign both” hype train as both players are coming off Achilles injuries so it only makes sense to double up just in case there is a setback.

With one or both of those players looking like they will be in the fold, what else can the Cowboys do to help this team but more importantly is there anyone out there that fits both a need and price tag?

I have taken a look over what is left and there are plenty of players that can help this team that will be signed during the second wave of free agency. Some of those players have currently priced themselves out of contention with this team but that is not to say they will lower their expectations and try again next year.

Some of the names that are left might intrigue you to the point where you might start banging your free agency drum to garner attention for a certain player. I certainly have mine ready, will you?
